Prophetic Art of Edie Reno

Release Me Darling

Release Me Darling is a narrative piece about freely you receive, freely you give.  A parody of the poem “Even Caged Birds Sing” by Maya Angelo,  it reminds us to bless others quickly.  The singing Meadowlark being clutched by the woman with the farmer tan is Wyoming’s state bird. She sits on a pedestal supported by butterlies(paper) embedded in wax.  Initially this was a portrait of a fellow worker, until I heard meadowlark’s singing outside my studio one morning and I added the bird.

Worried about wax melting? Think of wax museums and their permanence and that will put those qualms to rest.

This piece is about to be released as an edition of 10 in bronze.
